iOS App Store Icons
Apple App Store Requirements
Required Specifications
- Size: 1024×1024 pixels (App Store), plus various sizes for in-app use
- Format: PNG (no transparency)
- Color Space: sRGB or Display P3 recommended
- Shape: Flat square (no alpha transparency)
- Corner Radius: Applied automatically by iOS (don't round corners yourself)
Design Guidelines
- •Avoid placing important content in corners (will be clipped by iOS)
- •Keep designs simple and recognizable at small sizes
- •Don't include text in icon unless it's part of your logo
- •Avoid photographic or overly detailed graphics
- •Use consistent branding across all marketing materials
Android Play Store Icons
Google Play Store Requirements
Required Specifications
- Size: 512×512 pixels for Play Store listing
- Format: PNG (32-bit)
- Shape: Full square (system applies shapes)
- Corner Radius: ~20% radius applied automatically by Play Store
- Transparency: Allowed, but not required
Design Guidelines
- •Design on full square canvas - don't pre-round corners
- •Safe area for important content: center 80% of canvas
- •Consider how icon looks with different OEM masks (circle, squircle, etc.)
- •Use adaptive icons (foreground + background layers) for devices
- •Ensure sufficient contrast with various backgrounds
Android Adaptive Icons
For Android Devices (API 26+)
Layer Specifications
- Canvas Size: 108×108 dp (typically 432×432 or 1024×1024 px)
- Safe Zone: Center 72×72 dp (66% of canvas)
- Foreground Layer: Main icon artwork with transparency
- Background Layer: Solid color or pattern (no transparency)
- Monochrome (Optional): Single-color version for themed icons (Android 13+)
Design Guidelines
- •Keep all important content within the 72×72 dp safe zone
- •Outer 18 dp on all sides may be cropped by different OEM masks
- •Background layer extends to full bleed (visible in animations)
- •Avoid shadows in foreground (system may add its own)
- •Monochrome icon should work on any background color

- iPhone 6.5": 1242×2688 or 1284×2778 pixels (required)
- iPhone 6.7": 1290×2796 pixels (recommended)
- iPad 13": 2048×2732 pixels
- Format: PNG or JPEG (no transparency)
- Quantity: Up to 10 screenshots per device size
Google Play Screenshots
- Phone (16:9): 1080×1920 pixels (minimum)
- Phone (19.5:9): 1080×2340 pixels
- Format: PNG or JPEG (24-bit RGB)
- Quantity: 2-8 screenshots required per device type
- Max Size: 8 MB per screenshot
